A topical one in the run up to the Olympics later in the year – an illustration of a stadium/sports facility – football, cricket, rugby, bowls, lacrosse, waterpolo . . . . the list goes on and on. This ought to be a gift to the digital illustrators who have been somewhat underrepresented in previous competitions and for those of you in more out of the way locations there must be a bowling green or cricket field nearby; all would count.
Thank you to Emma for the suggestion.
Photorealistic, sketch, hand, drawing board, iPad, CGI or any combination of the above. “Illustration” includes photography and model making as well.
To be judged at the end of April with the best receiving £25.
As previously the guest judge will be the winner of February’s award Chris Fothergill.
Nice one, Tim, and thanks Emma. Here’s the one and only stadium I had anything to do with. A conceptual design to test the planning waters in a sensitive area of a town which cannot be named! The cheque in payment was real.
Here is my entry into the competition this month, some quick sketches as time is getting short. York have already been relegated out of the Football league this season. They should soon be moving from here to a new community stadium, largely paid for by the Council Tax payers of York.
