Norman Architectural Study

Pencil

An imagined study of the nave bays of a basilica in the Norman style of the British Isles in the twelfth century. I based the imagined study on the nave bays of Durham Cathedral and Dunfermline Abbey. It is more typical for the Triforium to be a single arch per bay, but I experimented with dividing each bay into two, as is more typical of the following centuries in Gothic tradition.
