I am a RIBA architect employed at Benoy as a Senior Associate Director and was previously employed at BDP, John Thompson & Partners and smaller practices in London, Cambridge and Melbourne, Australia. I often use sketching and hand drawing to illustrate and convey my ideas and concepts on projects at various scales, working on retail, masterplanning, leisure, commercial, residential and mixed-use sectors. Some of the projects that I have worked on range from historical towns such as Preston, Guildford, Salisbury, to international cities such as New Dehli, Bangalore, Kolkata, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur. I am encouraged to draw to illustrate the scheme for Planning and also use it for design purpose – elevational, facade and form studies to inform the architectural language and expression for the building. The drawings are also sketched to create a base for computer generated images and to communicate the touch and feel of the space to the digital renderers.
