Wemyss Bay Station Platforms

CGI

In 1993 I was commissioned to produce a perspective drawing of the Wemyss Bay platforms ahead of the major
refurbishment scheme that was carried out the following year. A number of years later I went back to my set-up
drawings and made a digital version, this time cutting away the roof in the foreground in order to see the distinctive
profile (See opposite page).

The station was designed in 1903 by the architect James Miller, and Donald Matheson, chief engineer for the
Caledonian Railway Company. The building is quite unique with its elegant canopy roofs constructed in long curves
of steelwork and glass.
