Taq Kasra, situated approximately 35 km south of Baghdad is the only structure left of the ancient city of Ctesiphon, capital of the Persian Empire.

It is an example of a 4 iwan mosque design, which is strongly associated with Persian architecture, and is the worlds largest single span brick vault
