I am an architect and a former Director of Design at Broadway Malyan Architects with whom I had been with for over 30 years. I now work freelance as a concept architect and illustrator.
My key skill is developing conceptual ideas for various projects, from individual buildings to city scale master planning and then illustrating the visions.
This has led me to work within a great variety of sectors and international locations.
In the last few years I have mostly been involved with the UK residential sector, especially low rise housing and masterplanning a new garden village in Surrey.
Most of the images I have uploaded are of my design and masterplanning work also.
I tend to design on the drawing board with loose sketches and then develop the 3d massing in sketchup.
From here I usually set up views which I then work up with felt pens.
These are then scanned and I colour in photoshop which gives me a lot of flexibility in colour choice and to make future changes.
I sometimes also just work in pencil and apply a sparing colour wash using aqua markers.
Outside of work I like to also draw and produce watercolours and not just of the built environment.
