My background is as a Landscape Architect and Urban Designer, I’ve always sketched to generate and explore ideas, to bring ideas to life, and to get across how an idea might look and feel. Over the last 25 years or so I’ve increasingly specialised in this area, providing illustrations for Architects, designers, developers and others. Clients include many leading architectural companies.
I’ve been involved with high end design projects all over the world both as a designer and illustrator, or both in combination, this experience informs the input to the sketches. I can interpret technical design information to provide a minds eye view … alternatively I can conjure a world from just a few suggestions.
Work is completed quickly, but in stages, with lots of opportunity for feedback. I often create a 3d model of the site/objects or building as a starting point, both for accuracy and so multiple viewpoints can be explored. Drawings are rendered digitally.
